Winter in Wisconsin December 30, 2007

 

This picture was taken by one of my friends in WI.  It is next to his house.  This is why I liked Winter in WI.  Can you belive that is only 7″ of snow?  He lives in a Beautiful area, with incredible views.  I wish I could take you all there one day.

Magic Milk December 29, 2007

I found this on the myspace home page.  I can’t wait to try it with my Nephew!!!  It is super short, but your kids will love it!  I think even you will love it!  It shows you step by step how to do it.  Have fun and let me know if you tried it!  I couldn’t get the video to pop up, so you will have to click on the words magic milk to watch the video.  It is only 2 min.  long.  But worth the time to learn to do it with your kids.

Dinosaurs and Black Tar December 27, 2007

My posts in this section won’t always seem like they go with the time of year.  They will just come out as I think of them or do them with my nephew or kids I nanny for. 

 This Christmas my nephew wanted dinosaurs.  I found him a bucket with five or six dinos and trees and such at Toys R Us.  It is really a great bucket especially for the great price of $10. 

While watching him play with them I remembered an activity I did with my class a few times.

We made black tar to go with the Dinosaurs.  The kids loved playing in it, and it was a simple clean up.

Random Acts of Kindness or the Spirit’s Prompting? December 27, 2007

I kind of understand why, but December always seems to bring about a desire to do random acts of kindness.  But I don’t feel like mine are so random.  I really feel like God is the one pushing me to do them. 

I find that I get more out of the acts then the receiver does.  Actually, I can’t know that for sure, but I do get a lot from the act. 

Many times I am trusting God in the Act.  Approaching strangers is scary.  Especially for me.  Because I  feel like it is God prompting me to do this, I decided to purchase some of those business size cards for inspiration.  All of them giving hope of the existence of God.  I give them along with whatever the act is.  I will try to explain why I feel like it is the Spirit is the one guiding me in these acts.

Angel of Death December 20, 2007

 

I was having a conversation with a friend today and she brought up the angel of death.  She thought it was Gabriel.  I couldn’t find anything in the Bible.  He was the Angel that was sent to smite the wicked.  I think that is how she phrased it.  Neither of us is saying it is true, we are asking if anyone out there can clarify this for us. Using Scripture please.  Or if this is just folklore.

I Love This! December 18, 2007

I got one of these for Christmas today!  So now I can make up to nine dozen cookies in one bowl!  I love this machine!  Mine is red!!  I love it! Love it!  If you have never made cookies with a stand mixer, I would highly reccomend it!  You will love it, easy dishwasher safe cleanup, and strong!  I can smell the fresh warm cookies now….

Sammy and the KREN Pet Of the Month Contest December 18, 2007

Much Tougher Without Insurance December 16, 2007

I find it interesting how much tougher I am now that I don’t have insurance.  I only go to the doctor as a last resort.  I had some skin irritation that I thought would go away, I waited for almost three months before I realized it wasn’t going to heal itself, and I there was nothing over the counter for it.  After going to the dermitologist I discovered I was right.   Although it won’t go away for about two years.  I get colds and I treat them holisticly now, something I never believed in.  And then comes Friday night.

A NEW Section- Activities for Kids to Play December 13, 2007

I am going to add a new section to my blog on activities that are fun to do with kids.  This will be ideas from my years as a preschool teacher.  Many of these you can find on the net already, but a lot of my readers have kids of various ages, and I thought I would share some of my skills.  Some of them will be ideas of my own.

My Favorite Christmas Carol December 10, 2007

 As a kid this was my favorite christmas song in the origional form.  As an adult hearing these two sing this song is just incredible.  I know it has been around for a very long time, as you can see how young Bowie is in the video, but it still moves me when I listen to it.  I have never seen the video before, it is kind of cool.  Thought I would share it with you all.
