Adoption in China July 29, 2007

This is a blog I did a few months ago.  But it is very important to me so I am reposting it here too.

child-red-ribbon.gifWow,

I just got off the phone with a woman who was looking for a nanny for seven children.  All of them adopted from other countries.  I told her she was living my dream.  She told me I better hurry up, starting May 1, 2007 China has new laws that take effect for adopting children from their country.  You now have to be married for at least two years if it is your first adoption, five years if it is a second marraige.  You have to be at least 30, but not older then 50.  And among many others, but the main ones that affect me besides finances, you can’t have a  body mass index (BMI) of  more than 40 for each parent.  Haven’t a clue what mine is, but I know it is above 40.  I was so excited to find out I could adopt from China being single, it is the one thing I can’t control in my life.  I can always lose weight, but getting married is a whole other ball game.  It is even harder or at least right up there with financial support.  Sometimes I wish I was a woman who slept all over the place or with any one who would so I could have a child of my own.  That is something I could control, but choose not to do to the best of my ability.  Believe it or not, it is not always an easy choice to stick by. I have failed in this area before.  I had high hopes for this dream, but today it was deflated drastically.  Funny, I was just talking to someone about patience and how hard it is to wait on God.  Here is the link I used to confirm what I had just found out.  http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,260391,00.html
